Today’s question, though spiritual in its significance from the Author, was a also a question that arose amongst us once as youngsters in the hood (growing up on the other side of the Atlantic). Within our crew we had three individuals which were exceptional – One was a Leader, the other Prophet and the last and not the least, was a Leader and a Prophet (you know how the journey is in the Spiritual realms: that you continue to have gifts and move up). The Latter’s father happens also to be very rich and never travels but send servants on His errands instead. Hence, a lot of people though have heard of Him but never thought very much of His wealth because, they do not see Him throw Himself around like our usual Grandees.
At a juncture, we decided to split so that everyone may bear more fruits as it is requested of us and the question arose: who would you follow? Some said they would follow the Leader, for he was good, and I agree, he was exceptional in his stewardship. Other said, they would follow the Prophet, and genuinely, he was hot, and very hot indeed (for us who know a “Hot Prophet”). But when I was asked who I would follow, my reply was: I NEVER FOLLOW NOBODY. However, and almost suddenly, I was reminded of this incident when we were on the other side of the Atlantic: I drove a car involved in an accident, but when the police turned up, knowing that I was the guilty party, our brother (the son of this rich father), quickly stepped in on my behalf and told the Officer he was the driver and not me, (perhaps knowing that His father will resolve the issue ultimately). Therefore, and shaken to the core solely on that remembrance, I swiftly did a U-turn and decided to follow him, the Leader, who is also a Prophet.
Getting down to brass-tacks, the above preamble we have just read is no other than the accounts of what is written in the GOOD BOOK, THE HOLY BIBLE and synonymous to the title of today. Before judging me that I said the Leader was exceptional and the Prophet was double Hot, yet I did not follow them but went with the son of the rich dad, please follow my little scriptural but mathematics by elimination:
- Our Leader, was no other than Brother Moses, and just as I submitted, even Christ confirmed there was no other leader like him but, would he take anyone’s unnecessary burden? No! The scripture states: Moses protested that the burden was too much for him (Number 11:11-15).
- So did the other, the Prophet, in Person of Elijah. He also refused, begged that God should even take his life because the burden was too much (1Kings 19:10) and when his time came, he got a very Hot Taxi back home (Chariot of Fire to Heaven). Can I then be alone in not following him despite his miracles and signs? I leave that to your judgement whilst we consider the characteristic of the One who became my Leader - the Author of today’s question.
Christ, is the one whose Father never travels but send messengers all over (Angels). God Almighty’s riches in glory is too much, and does not need Him throwing Himself about as we often see from our earthly kind. It was part of that Riches and Mercies in His son’s DNA that was exhibited, when I, (like anyone of us with our issues) comes to Him, He intervenes and became the propitiation for our sins – BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD THAT CARRIES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORD. Can I, or should I or you, then follow anybody? HE LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US (John 15:13) - SINLESS FOR THE SINNERS.
Conclusively and just as He asked his disciples shortly after today’s question: BUT WHOM SAY YE THAT I AM? DO WE IN FACT KNOW HIM? Or, are we like the rest of the disciples except for Simon Peter, they could not identify His principal Character despite all the years of discipleship? PLEASE LET US ASK AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS whilst the Evangelists rest this case.

There was this rumour going around almost perpetually – about this lady who smiles to almost everyone though she always wears her wedding band hence, most taught she must be a street walker. In fact, and though I seldom judge anybody, I personally went amiss on this one too. Haven heard what friends had to say about her, which was not common but real, my encounter came on my way to work one day. Thinking I was minding my own business and much more occupied with the mammoth task ahead of me, as I thought I had missed my life’s boat and lagging behind, so I had to be sternly more focused.
However, I could not help noticing this lady across the street, averagely dressed and beaming with smile. I looked behind me and around, there was no one else but me and she kept looking at me and smiling which I thought was weird because I do not think we have ever met. Moreover, while maintaining my focus, I noticed she was walking towards me and though I planned to take-off immediately before she reaches, she was too fast for me and offer to know what was bothering me early that morning as it was inscribed all over my face – that itself was strange if not unbelievable, because I thought I was competent at disguising conveniently, but this one saw through me. So, I relaxed and decided to hear her out. Appropriately so, we started with the usual: intros etc then, it damn on me – this is her, the lady, I have been warned about via the rumour
This is the Lady called Grace, but not as I have come to personally find out!
She did not ask for my number, neither was she flirting with me but very much concern for my well-being as a young man hence, I was even more on my guard: 1, I am a man and don’t have to tell my problems, and not to a strange woman at least. 2, What is in it for her – there is no free meal as I was taught, so I had to be very careful with this cougar I thought, but offered to exchange numbers with her. Doing so, was like a huge burden came off my should because before she left, I had to promise her not to keep worrying too much and that things are still achievable even at the stage for me - that itself was crazy because I had never had to do that with no lady, not even my mother, at that stage in life. Times rolled by and no calls either way, but she was visible on social media and I could see her on WhatsApp, so I reckon: she is still alive and, I kept nursing these dirty thoughts inside about her, like: if she really cares that much, I could play the prey and fall for this caring cougar one day, though the fact of her being a prostitute as rumoured, kept me back. Until one fateful afternoon my phone rang. It was Grace inviting me to her daughter’s birthday party.

A MIRACLE BABY – BORN AT 18, HENCE, THE REALITY OF GRACE’S LIFESTYLE – WOW! SHE IS ACTUALLY IN HER NINETIES BUT LOOKS 60ish
THEN IT DAWNED ON ME: IF YOU HAVE NEVER SLEPT WITH A WOMAN – YOU’VE GOT NO RIGHT TO CALL HER A PROSTITUTE!
THE ABOVE STORY HAS BEEN ABOUT NO OTHER, THAN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, HIS GRACE AND RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS CHURCH – CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST.
BY GRACE WE ARE CALLED, NOT BY WORKS……(EPHE 2:8-9) HENCE, THIS LADY, GRACE SMILES AND IS NICE TO ALL IRRESPECTIVE OF CLASS, FINANCIAL STANDING OR GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION BUT, MOST THOUGHT SHE IS A PROSTITUTE AND THE CHURCH (HER UPSPRING), AN HAVEN FOR SINNERS ETC. SHE FOUND ME (AS MOST OF US “THE CALLED”) AT THAT TERRIBLE JUNCTURE OF LIFE, COMFORTS AND PLANTED US INTO GOD’S VINEYARD (THE CHURCH, HER UPSPRING). THE AGE CALCULATIONS ABOVE EXPLAINS THAT SHE IS AGELESS AS A PROPERTY OF “THE ACCIENT OF ALL DAYS”
HIS CHURCH (A PRODUCT OF GRACE), A VESSEL TO CONVEY US BACK TO GOD VIA CHRIST, INSTEAD OF BEING APPRECIATED AS A GOLDEN AND LAST OPPORTUNITY, IS BEING MISCONSTRUED AS AN HAVEN FOR ALL SORTS AND AN INSTRUMENT OF WORLDLY SALVATION INSTEAD OF THE SPIRITUAL.
HOWEVER, AND DESPITE ALL THE TEMPESTOUS SEAS, IT IS WITH GREAT GLADNESS THAT WE CELEBRATE THIS CHILD THAT REFUSE TO DIE – CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST AT 75. HALLELUYA!
PRINCIPALLY AND MORE THAN AT 50YEARS, WE THE EVANGELISTS REMIND US: But how can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord has not condemned?I see them from the cliff tops; I watch them from the hills. I see a people who live by themselves, set apart from other nations. Who can count Celestians’ descendants, as numerous as dust? Who can count even a fourth of Celestians’ people? Let me die like the righteous; let my life end like theirs.”
Moreover, God has blessed, and I cannot reverse it! No misfortune is in His plan for Celestians; no trouble is in store for Celestians. For the Lord their God is with them; He has been proclaimed their King. God brought them out of Furnace; for them He is as strong as a wild ox. No curse can touch Celestians; no magic has any power against Celestians. For now, it will be said of Celestians, ‘What wonders God has done for Celestians!’ These people rise up like a lioness, like a majestic lion rousing itself. They refuse to rest until they have feasted on prey, drinking the blood of the slaughtered!”
Finally, how beautiful are your tents, O Celestial Church of Christ; how lovely are your homes, Celestians! They spread before me like palm groves, Or like a majestic valley. like gardens by the riverside. They are like tall trees planted by the Lord, like cedars beside the waters. Water will flow from their buckets; their offspring have all they need. Their king will be greater than this World’s; their kingdom will be exalted. God brought them out of Furnace; for them He is as strong as a wild ox. He devours all the nations that oppose him, breaking their bones in pieces, shooting them with arrows. Like a lion, Celestial crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to arouse her? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Celestial Church of Christ, and cursed is everyone who curses you.”
